Medicare for All is supported by a majority of people in our Commonwealth, yet legislation to implement this popular policy languishes in the State House. Register here for our ORMA forum, “Healthcare is a Right,” March 27th at 7:00 pm to learn how we, as the ORMA community, can bring about this progressive change.
The forum will feature a group of experts and advocates who are leading the fight for universal single-payer healthcare in Massachusetts including: State Rep, Lindsay Sabadosa who will discuss her bill to implement Medicare for All; Dr. Allan Meyers from Physicians for a National Health Plan who will explain why single payer healthcare improves quality while eliminating 20% of the costs; Gerald Friedman, UMass economics professor, and author of the ground-breaking report “The Case for Medicare for All”, who will discuss the economic opportunities of such a system and how Massachusetts can afford it; and David Cohen of MassCare, who will describe this year’s political strategy to obtain signatures for non-binding ballot referendums for Medicare for All throughout the Commonwealth.
While passage of Medicare for All on the federal level is the goal, Bernie Sanders urges as many states as possible to pass this legislation, setting the precedent and facilitating the realization of Healthcare as a Human Right.
Join us this coming Sunday, March 27th at 7:00, and help ORMA take the next step in securing a healthcare system that benefits all of us, not just the billionaires!
Onward!
