Please join us as members of Concerned Jewish Faculty discuss Jewish resistance to Israel's policies, Jewish support for Palestinian rights, and Jewish support for protest over Palestine in the US.
Wedesday, May 28 at 7:00 PM at The First Parish of Watertown, 35 Church Street, Watertown. Parking is available in the Church lot that can be accessed off of Summer Street and in the CVS lot next to the Church off of Common Street. Use the front entrance facing Church Street.
Dr. Marjorie Feld, Professor of History at Babson College and author of The Threshold of Dissent (2024) which chronicles the long history of American Jewish dissent over Israel and Zionism. She speaks widely on the contemporary debates over Israel and argues for the value of open and safe conversations and criticism to a healthy American Jewish communal life.
Dr. Jonathan Feingold, Associate Professor of Law at Boston University who is an expert in antidiscrimination law, (including equal protection doctrine and Title VI), affirmative action, and education law. He has analyzed the spread of discriminatory censorship laws designed to demean inclusionary values. He hosts the #RaceClass Podcast.
Dr. Mneesha Gellman, Associate Professor of Political Science at Emerson College. She is the author of Misrepresentation and Silence in United State History Textbooks: The Politics of Historical Oblivion. She is the founder and Director of the Emerson Prison Initiative and an expert witness in US immigration courts.
There will be an informal discussion and refreshments in the Social Hall following the formal program.
