Is It Time for a "Peace and Common Security" Working Group in Watertown Citizens for Peace, Justice and the Environment?
Last Sunday a small but hearty group discussed the possibility of forming a peace and common security working group in Watertown Citizens. It was a good discussion made even more important in the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine. One asks, "Where are the pro-peace activists calling for negotiation and restraint and for a ceasefire and de-escalation? Why aren't there more folks joining our Sunday vigil?
There are not easy answers, but a working group focused on U.S. military and foreign policy can help find those answers. We are meeting again to continue our discussion. We will share our new mission statement, discuss the program on the consequences of nuclear weapons in July, and consider a program on Palestine and Israeli in November.
Please join us on Sunday, May 1 at 7:00 PM
