There will be a time beyond the Ukraine and Yemen wars, opportunities to ensure human survival via Common Security policies and diplomacy.

In late April, on the 40th anniversary of the Palme Commission’s Common Security report, which played a major role in ending the Cold War, the Olaf Palme Foundation, the International Peace Bureau, and the International Trade Union Confederation will issue their 21st Century Common Security Report.

Coming midst the disastrous Ukraine War and break down of the Post-Cold War order, the many dangers of the climate emergency and inequalities, the report provides a critique and a roadmap for building common security, based on the reality that security cannot be achieved against a nation’s rival, but only with it.

Speakers include:

Anna Sundstrom – Secretary General,  Olaf Palme Foundation (Sweden)

Reiner Braun – Executive Director, International Peace Bureau (Germany)

Anuradha Chenoy –Jawaharlal Nehru University & Asia-Europe People’s Forum (India)

Sergio Duarte – President Pugwash Conference (Brazil)

Alexey Gromyko – Russian Academy of Science (Russia)

Alexander Kmentt -  Ambassador and Director, Dep’s for Disarmament, Arms Control and Non-Proliferation  (Austria)

Zhao Tong – Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (China)

Co-Sponsored by Campaign for Peace, Disarmament, and  Common Security (USA), PeaceQuest (Canada), International Peace Bureau
