Watertown Faces Climate Change Weighs In

Public Comments work when there are a lot of us.  State yours!  Speak up about upcoming developments and the Climate Action Plan draff.

Watertown Mall Development Watertown Faces Climate Change was buoyed by the large turnout and lively discussion at the January 27 community meeting for Alexandria Real Estate Equities (ARE) to present its plans for the Watertown Mall.  Many of you may have been there.  It showed how much concern there is in Watertown for sustainable development.   See our open letter to Alexandria here.  We encourage you to participate in the next public meetings on the Watertown Mall on March 1

Watertown’s Draft Climate Action Plan is out and waiting for comments. Take a look and give feedback by March here.

For all of these WFCC’s 2022 priorities are: Net Zero Energy schools and other buildings where all energy is produced on site; retaining healthy, mature trees; making cycling, walking, and local public transit easier and safer; and promoting development that creates a diverse mix of amenities, retail, services, residential, and work options to enliven the town while reducing the need to drive.

WFCC meets every two weeks.  Check the website for the next meeting.
