Thank you for supporting Watertown Walks for Peace!

Thank you for supporting the successful 2022 Watertown Walks for Peace (WW4P) effort to benefit the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute. We are grateful for your generous donations to the Louis D. Brown Institute, for showing your personal support by walking with us Dorchester, or for doing both!

This was our 8th year in a row to participate in the Mother’s Day Walk for Peace. And it was the most successful effort to date:

We had 62 donors and more than doubled our fundraising goal of $3000! Thanks to your generosity WW4P 2022 raised $6,410 – significantly more than we’ve ever raised before. And almost half of this donor group (29) also walked with us in Dorchester.

We had a bus-full of walkers. In addition, we had 44 walkers (29 adults, 15 kids) who participated in the first in-person Mother’s Day Walk for Peace since 2019 (both 2020 and 2021 fundraising events were virtual because of Covid). Our in-person presence this year was an important statement of Watertown’s support for the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute.

We had generous sponsors. We are grateful for the financial support from several organizations that helped to pay bus expenses or made donations to WW4P.

  • First Parish of Watertown
  • Survival Education Fund
  • Watertown Citizens for Peace, Justice and the Environment
  • World in Watertown

Once again WW4P has demonstrated Watertown’s concern and caring for individuals, families, and communities affected by gun violence. Thank you supporting the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute and its mission to create more peaceful communities through healing services, training, and advocacy for social change.
One final note – it’s not too late to make donations to the WW4P webpage. Please let your friends and family members know. Thank you!
