Watertown Faces Climate Change

At its Jan. 17 meeting, WFCC hosted Representatives John Lawn and Steve Owens. We filled them in on our current activities, including work on CCA’s, the new ZNE schools, the Watertown Climate Action Plan, and the Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan, Then, we discussed the MA Climate Bill and legislative transparency. Both men expressed disappointment at Gov. Baker’s veto of the Climate Bill and vowed to work to over-ride it in the new session. They were less enthusiastic about our efforts to make committee votes transparent, however. They felt that other bills, which were more pressing and would have more impact, required their focus and energy.
