Watertown Square for a Vigil for Black Lives

10Nov2020

From 5:30 PM until 6:30 PM

At Watertown Square Delta

Please join us on Tuesday, October 20th (rescheduled from the 13th) at 5:30pm in Watertown Square for a Vigil for Black Lives.  Bring a sign, if you are able. There will be extra signs available. Please wear a mask and stay in your household bubble.

As the date of this vigil was planned to immediately follow Indigenous Peoples Day on October 12, we are including a focus on the history of indigenous people and their exploitation with the arrival of European settlers. The land where we stand is called Columbus Delta with a tribute to him called the Columbus Rock. We collectively need to consider a more accurate description of that time and policies that followed.

We will also continue to end the vigil with a silent reflection in memory of George Floyd and others that were killed by racial
bigotry and police brutality. Some paper lanterns will be provided.

Please wear a mask and practice social distancing in public spaces.
