"Understanding Palestine and Witnessing Reality”

The Peace and Common Security Working Group will present an educational event on the war inn Gaza and injustices in other regions of Palestine.

There will be some short films to provide historical and contemporary context for the current tragic situation in Gaza and the West Bank.  The featured guest is Rev. Ashlee Wiest-Laird, who will share her experiences on a recent solidarity delegation to the Holy Land. Rev. Ashlee is Pastor at First Baptist Church Jamaica Plain. For four years, she served as the Southern Baptist chaplain at Harvard University and then spent  year working with Sabeel Liberation Theology Center and the Middle East Council of Churches in Jerusalem.
