Help Pass ‘Justice for Shireen Act’ to Investigate Her Murder!

In response, Representative André Carson (D-IN) introduced a simple but potentially groundbreaking bill, the Justice for Shireen Act, that would require the Biden administration to submit a detailed report about her murder to Congress.

Investigations of the attack by media outlets including CNN [1] and human rights organizations not only show the IDF was responsible for the attack on the journalists but had possibly targeted Shireen  deliberately. For weeks, Israeli officials denied culpability, equivocated and even blamed the assaulted journalists for her death.

U.S. support for Israel’s brutal oppression of Palestinians and apartheid policies has continued unchallenged for decades: this year the U.S. is granting $4.8 billion in military aid to Israel despite an existing U.S. law that blocks support to military units that commit human rights violations. A thorough investigation by the FBI and State Department into Shireen’s murder as directed by this bill would give us critical support for enforcing this law, protecting press freedom,  and helping end the oppression of Palestinians.
