At zoom
Watertown Citizens has always been on the forefront of peace and disarmament issues in Watertown - from our early days of supporting the nuclear weapons freeze and opposing U.S. intervention in Central America to our annual Hiroshima and Nagasaki commemoration and our opposition to the U.S. wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as our support for peace with justice in Palestine and Israel. We have held vigils and protests, organized public forums and teach-ins, initiated referendum questions, and pressured our elected officials.
Some of us think it is time to build on this tradition to create a new working group in Watertown Citizens that focuses on U.S. foreign and military policy. While the idea has been previously discussed, the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the need for a pro-peace response to ending the conflict has given the idea greater urgency.
If you would like to explore what it would mean to create a new working group in Watertown Citizens, we invite you to a zoom meeting on Sunday, March 20 at 5:00 PM. The link to the meeting is
