Watertown Mall Development Watertown Faces Climate Change was buoyed by the large turnout and lively discussion at the January 27 community meeting for Alexandria Real Estate Equities (ARE) to present its plans for the Watertown Mall. Many of you may have been there. It showed how much concern there is in Watertown for sustainable development. See our open letter to Alexandria here. For all of these WFCC’s 2022 priorities are: Net Zero Energy schools and other buildings where all energy is produced on site; retaining healthy, mature trees; making cycling, walking, and local public transit easier and safer; and promoting development that creates a diverse mix of amenities, retail, services, residential, and work options to enliven the town while reducing the need to drive.
