The next meeting of Watertown Citizens for Peace, Justice, and the Environment on September 22,2021 at 7PM will feature a presentation by Watertown Faces Climate Change (WFCC), a group of Watertown residents working to address the climate crisis. Sabine von Mering from 350MASS, a statewide organization working to end the dominance of the fossil fuel industry, will recount her experience protesting the Line 3 pipeline in Minnesota and talk about what citizens can do at the federal level. We will also hear from Representative Steve Owens and 350MASS legislative lobbyist Cabell Eames on efforts and issues at the state level. Then we will turn to the local level with WFCC's on-going efforts to advocate for three new net zero schools, climate-friendly development, affordable clean energy, and a robust Climate Action Plan. The meeting will be held in person in the Watertown Savings Bank Meeting Room at the Watertown Public Library.
