00:24:07	Sean Conner (IPB):	We have opened up the chat for comments and thoughts from attendees. We ask you to please be respectful and civil in your remarks, recognizing the complexity and emotional characteristics of the topics discussed.
00:29:05	Dr Guinness Madasamy:	No to War in Ukraine; Yes to Negotiations and Peace
00:29:53	Dr Guinness Madasamy:	It’s now necessary to negotiate and settle effective diplomatic initiatives and civil society activities in the international framework!

Peace does not come from more war! Wars do not end in peace!
00:30:18	Roger Horne:	😊
00:30:34	mark wolff:	Prestigious peace making!
00:30:48	Karel VEREYCKEN:	Will the révélations of Seymour Hersh that the US destroyed the Nord Stream pipelines, lead european countries to leave NATO. Biden did commit a war crime. Can he be impeached?
00:31:55	Chendan Yan:	The UN Security Council held a hearing on it but I heard that US and UK vetoed the Russian resolution.
00:32:02	Dennis Wong:	If this is a war between the US and Russia, do Putin and the elites think they can win? If yes, what will winning look like for Putin?
00:32:25	Chendan Yan:	https://consortiumnews.com/2023/02/21/watch-un-security-council-on-nord-stream-attack/
00:32:29	Dr Guinness Madasamy:	Our priority is to stop the war, save human lives and avert an economic disaster whose price will inevitably be paid by the poorest and most vulnerable.
00:33:34	Åke Paulsson:	Chinas suggestion for a peace settlement seems to me being fair and based on international law: https://www.fmprc.gov.cn/mfa_eng/wjdt_665385/2649_665393/202302/t20230224_11030713.html
00:34:04	Dr Guinness Madasamy:	War is not a solution.
War is anti-human activity.
War is destructive.
War is cruelty.
War is suppressing others.
War is against human rights.
War is inequality.
War is worst.
War is a source of problems not just for the present generation but also for the future.
War is against environmental dimensions.
War is the loss of the human race.
War is the loss of people's heritage.
War is the loss of civilization.
War is against the principles of UN and sustainable development principles.
War is deception. War is a threat to society.
War is animality.
Above all, War is the extinction of the human race and humanity.War is worst.
00:36:05	Karel VEREYCKEN:	Are you saying we should stop building a peace movement? I Don't get it?
00:36:33	Memi Campana:	+ùèàswaeq
00:38:40	Isatou Sarr:	The question of whether and under what circumstances to conduct peace negotiations is a political one.
00:38:54	Isatou Sarr:	While international law can provide mechanisms for the peaceful resolution of international disputes [including] international adjudication, arbitration or mediation, commissions of enquiry applying these mechanisms to achieve a solution that will be accepted by the relevant parties requires a readiness to submit to these mechanisms in the first place.
00:38:59	Dennis Wong:	Does IPB support the UN GA Resolution calling for the end of the war in Ukraine that was passed yesterday?
141 member states in favor, 7 against and 32 abstentions.
00:39:40	Isatou Sarr:	As long as the political willingness to submit to these mechanisms is lacking, and one party rather pursues its political aims in clear breach of international law, there is little that can be done at the purely legal as opposed to political and economic level beyond highlighting the internationally wrongful character of Russia’s aggression.
00:40:21	Dr Guinness Madasamy:	Does International Law allow any country to attack the other with its dominance of power and Supremacy? Which universal law allows a politician or a country to decide to suppress all the rules or to rule over the others? What are the provisions made by the United Nations for peace and equality of all people who are born on this earth as a citizen of any particular country?
00:40:52	Isatou Sarr:	Is Russia’s removal from international bodies an appropriate response to its conduct and does it not preclude diplomatic solutions to put an end to the war?
00:41:27	Karel VEREYCKEN:	What will be the next moves of the Vatican to galvanise a world peace movement?
00:42:12	Dr Guinness Madasamy:	Russia should be removed from all international bodies with immediate effect
00:43:51	mark wolff:	Reliance on the violent banter of competing imperial project, and who may dominate, is not peace making.
00:45:55	Dr Guinness Madasamy:	The war is likely to continue. As in any war, the end result of the war in Ukraine is the tears of hundreds of thousands of innocent people. The number of dead and wounded Russian soldiers is estimated by war zone observers to be around 200,000. On the other hand, the number of civilians killed in Ukraine is estimated to be eight thousand.
00:46:22	mark wolff:	"Uphold our right to refuse to kill"
00:47:40	Sruti Bala:	Would it be possible to read Yurii's speech again? Every word of it needs to be heard by the world.
00:47:42	Ulla Klötzer:	We should also remove USA from all international foras and get USA out of Europe
00:48:19	Dr Guinness Madasamy:	yah
00:50:05	Robin Harper:	War is insane, caused by sociopaths atop weapon makers and dictatorships, by gullible conformist masses who let it go on, and by arrogant politicians who ignore this psychology
00:50:37	Sean Conner (IPB):	Videos from Karyna's organization, 100 Words for Peace: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=587360353235585&ref=sharing
00:50:47	Sean Conner (IPB):	https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2255425994621829&ref=sharing
00:51:54	Chendan Yan:	Heartbreaking. We should listen to the kids - they don’t want war. When Western leaders shout “victory”, what do they mean and at what costs?
00:52:26	Yurii Sheliazhenko:	Website of Ukrainian Pacifist Movement http://pacifism.org.ua/en/about and Peace Agenda for Ukraine and the World https://www.ipb.org/peace-agenda-for-ukraine-and-the-world/
00:59:38	Robert Desmarais Sullivan:	I am.an American citizen by birth, and my family has been good Louisiana citizens since the 17th century before the US existed. The US government must recognize its partial responsibility for provoking and prolonging the war. Russia is a great European country, as is the US. The game of dominance has no winners.
01:01:08	Gayle Morrow:	👍🏼
01:03:09	Ulla Klötzer:	When I said USA our of Europé I mean the millitary and political elite/Power. Not ordinary US citizens. I have many friends and Peace active colleges USA
01:06:33	Lena Jarlöv:	How can I support Ukrainian Peacemovement?
01:07:12	Maria Cueva Mendez:	Michael von der Schulenburg said EU cannot stop the war. Why the UE has no autonomy, why is it so US-dependent?
01:10:55	Karel VEREYCKEN:	UE became a slave of world Financial oligarchy that took control of the dollar and doesn't care about any populations
01:11:06	Gayle Morrow:	Cannot speak to any un autonomy, but IMHO the largest incentive in the US is military contractors & their strangle hold over our politicians.
01:11:25	mark wolff:	can we have a gallery viw to see all te panelists/
01:12:06	mark wolff:	no
01:12:15	Sruti Bala:	protest in Amsterdam today as well, 5pm Dam Square
01:12:40	Susan Smith:	Yes, Gayle. The war economy is approximately 8% of the USA’s GDP.
01:13:20	Gayle Morrow:	And growing, I'm certain, Susan.
01:14:10	Hope Taylor:	During the runup to the first Gulf atrocity, I had proposed an international delegation of women, "Women in Harm's Way" to be present in the war zone as a continuing challenge to escalation and risking their lives to interfere with aggression. An unarmed "force" to be a conscience of the world. Some middle eastern peace activists showed interest in the concept, but it didn't get traction. Would the IPB be a possible sponsor of such an effort? I'd be a highly motivated organizer and volunteer.
01:16:00	Sean Conner (IPB):	The recording of today's meeting will be available on the YouTube channel of IPB in the next couple days. It can also be viewed on our Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/ipb1910
01:16:28	Sean Conner (IPB):	Our YouTube channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/@ipb1910
01:16:32	Theo Valois (IPB):	Hello, Mark! We are highlighting all the panelists to appear in a gallery view – the view for attendees is set to follow the host’s screen.
01:17:08	Sean Conner (IPB):	With any further requests or questions for IPB, we welcome emails to info at ipb-office.berlin
01:22:56	piera muccigrosso:	☮️ EL action in Vienna yersterday - Peace is our Victory! https://www.european-left.org/campaigns/peace-is-our-victory/
01:23:53	Chendan Yan:	👍🏼🙌🏼
01:29:10	Gayle Morrow:	There is never a limit on the Pentagon's budget that actually received more than requested.
01:29:44	Gayle Morrow:	Food stamps? No, not enough $$.
01:30:06	Gayle Morrow:	Health care? Hahaha...really?
01:30:24	Gayle Morrow:	Housing? Not enough $$.
01:31:00	Gayle Morrow:	And any social programs? Never enough.
01:31:20	piera muccigrosso:	Hi Sean! Thank you to organise this important exchange on this sad anniversary.
And let's overwhelm the streets with peace demonstrations during the weekend!
01:31:25	Chendan Yan:	It would be great to have a summary of the peace protests over the past two weeks to show the momentum starting.
01:32:26	piera muccigrosso:	part of the peace initiatives and actions here: https://sbilanciamoci.info/europe-for-peace/peace-initiatives/
01:33:01	Chendan Yan:	Thank you!!
01:33:32	Gayle Morrow:	Social security? Medicare? You've gpt to be kidding. NO!
01:36:07	Gayle Morrow:	Thank all of you for today & for yourwork for peace.
01:38:46	Bert Verstappen:	so now the peace movement is teaming up with Donald Trump?
01:40:47	Dennis Wong:	Any demonstrations against Putin?
01:41:04	Yurii Sheliazhenko:	Rather Donald Trump desperately tries to infiltrate into peace movement. Well, during the festive of soberness you can't prohibit a drunkard to call for soberness.
01:42:21	Sruti Bala:	please share more info about the conference in june
01:42:23	Robert Desmarais Sullivan:	Merci!!!!
01:43:32	Sruti Bala:	question for panel: what do you think the negotiation will lead to? what are the possible scenarios?
01:46:03	Yurii Sheliazhenko:	First and foremost negotiations must lead to cessation of senseless bloodshed and destruction. All other things could be dealt with later by all wide variety of methods of reconciliation known to humankind.
01:46:32	Ulla Klötzer:	Bravo Medea!!!
01:46:35	Sean Conner (IPB):	Regarding Sruti's questions: It is not up to us to suggest the outcomes themselves, but many have proposed the topics that will need to be negotiated. IPB has compiled a document with these proposals here: https://www.ipb.org/ceasefire-and-peace-for-ukraine/
01:47:11	Dennis Wong:	How could our peace movements hold Putin responsible and accountable for his choice to invade Ukraine and be on the offensive to destroy Ukraine?
Or do we at risk by allowing future Putins to invade other countries without impunity?
01:47:11	Hope Taylor:	Yes, I agree with Medea that raising concerns in the internationals environmental/anti nuclear movement will be important in building the international movement against this war and others. As a long time environmental justice organizer/advocate/researcher, I want to help build this movement, including an unarmed intervention by women.
01:48:15	Chendan Yan:	👍🏼
01:48:25	Erika Sheridan:	Well said, Francesco!
01:48:27	Eli McCarthy:	Report on impact of NVR in Ukraine: https://inkstickmedia.com/calling-on-the-us-to-support-nonviolent-resistance-in-ukraine/
01:48:33	Ulla Klötzer:	BRAVO Francesco!!!
01:48:41	r jh:	🙏🏼well said
01:49:07	Heidi Meinzolt:	be exteremly careful not to be coopted by authoritarianism, right-wing, anti-feminist movements as fake peace people - this is happening partly in Germany, in Hungary...peacebuilding has to do with rights and freedoms and is a long and difficult process for the safety and daily needs of the people! It is about war to stop!
01:49:08	Gayle Morrow:	In other words world view & don't make it personal. Thanks, Francesco.
01:49:29	Ulla Klötzer:	UK stands for Ulla Klötzer: Women for Peace - Finland
01:49:43	Sarah Westcott:	Link to IPD document on ceasefire and peace in Ukraine doesn't work?
01:50:38	Dennis Wong:	Thanks to all for caring and sharing your thoughts for peace, a just peace.
01:50:42	Peace Tandem:	I suggest that in the future the different organizations in the different countries try to coordinate their Actions more. It has more Impact if we have "worldwide protest day" than one italian protest on 3rd, one german on 7th and one US on 22...
01:50:58	Chendan Yan:	Agreed! 👍🏼
01:52:00	Kornelia Völker:	Thank you very much for your words, that can bring hope an common activities!❤️
01:52:28	Phoebe Spence:	Transcripts of the first speakers please. Thank you

01:52:49	Maria Cueva Mendez:	I tried to suscribe to the newsletter with two different e-mails and I cannot. It gives me some sort of error. I talk about IPB newsletter suscription on the webpage.

01:53:24	Chendan Yan:	Thank you so much!

01:53:29	Sandrine Emiel:	thank you so much
